It’s a slow process until the lump of clay will turn into a finished piece of ceramics. Every step will get its time and attention. It takes a minimum of 3-4 weeks to finish one product. Every piece will go through my hands around 8 times.
the clay is being wedged and weighed
next step is centering and throwing the clay on the wheel
after a drying time from 1-2 days, the piece is leatherhard and ready to trim.
after another week of drying ( sometimes plates will need up to 2 weeks) the first firing can take place ( around 950 degree Celsius)
the earthenware will be sanded and washed and dried again
the piece will be glazed now, which can be dipped or brushed on
the second firing, the high firing is taking place ( up to 1250 degree celsius)
after 36 h I can unload the kiln and finish the piece by smoothing the bottoms
